Society Description

The Welcome to Korea (WeKo) Enterprise stands out as a student-led initiative that bridges cultural gaps by offering real-world experiences in tourism and translation. Unlike traditional clubs, WeKo actively engages students in Korea's rich history, allowing them to interact with international visitors, develop language skills, and gain hands-on experience in cultural exchange. Through collaborations with local businesses, schools, and tourism offices, WeKo members contribute meaningfully to Jeju’s global presence. Whether you’re passionate about history, language, or simply love meeting new people, WeKo offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact while exploring Korea’s heritage.

Society Project Description

What Makes Us Special

The Welcome to Korea Enterprise commits for locations in Jeju that are prominent for representing Korea and Jeju culture alongside natural beauty. By doing so, the primary purpose of the WeKo is to engage with individuals who are foreign or new to Korean culture by providing them with concise support services about Jeju’s unique honeypot sites by volunteering for language translation or other cultural exchange sessions. Hence, we will be trying our best to promote cultural immersion and refinement of the social impression by granting people deeper, unforgettable experiences about Korean culture and its long history.

Our major goal is to provide English translation support to enhance the experience of foreign tourists visiting Jeju’s unique sites. We would initially focus on key locations known for their cultural and natural significance, with plans to expand across Jeju’s Global Education City. The main impact is to facilitate cultural exchange, boost tourism experience, and offer NLCS students meaningful community service. From next month, we would conduct the tourism project for foreigners.
